Take the English curriculum outside to our centre. Complete our Nature Trail and then get children to describe and get creative with their writing. Why not use our outside classroom to encourage the children to write about their experiences.
Our Orienteering course is excellent for following and giving directions. Use the 26 points on our course for children to learn the alphabet (all of our points have a letter and a number). Older children can use the course for navigation, thinking up their own words using the letter they find, introduce a a bit of competition and get them to come up with the longest descriptive word for each letter.

Re-create a Midsummer Night’s Dream in our woodland area to encourage the children to act out scenes to bring Shakespeare to life. Get children to immerse themselves in the narrative curriculum to bring different areas together, such as Geography, History as well as English and Maths.

For younger children the Gruffulo can come to life around our site.
